Organizations

The work to help Ukrainian children abducted by Russia and those trapped under occupation unites many organizations involved in various efforts on the issue.

The main directions of work are search, rescue, rehabilitation, accountability and advocacy. Here is a list of organizations who are experts in their respective areas.

  • Razom for Ukraine advocates in the US for the return of the abducted children of Ukraine by collaborating with media, civil society groups, and decision makers.
  • Ukrainian National Women's League of America (UNWLA) advocates in the US for the return of the abducted children of Ukraine as well as raises awareness about the struggles of children impacted by the Russian invasion.
  • Save Ukraine is a Ukrainian NGO that rescues and reunites with their families the children illegally deported to Russia or the occupied territories, as well as provides rehabilitation and reintegration services.
  • Ukrainian Child Rights Network , in partnership with Save the Children in Ukraine, is implementing the project "A Way Home" to find and return children abducted by Russia and reunite families separated by occupation.
  • Voices of Children is the largest provider of psychological support and trauma recovery for children affected by the war, including those returned from abduction.
  • GenUkrainian provides rehabilitation for Ukrainian children impacted by the Russian invasion.
  • The Reckoning Project documents war crimes in Ukraine, including the abduction and indoctrination of Ukrainian children, raises awareness about them in media and seeks justice in the courts.
  • Regional Center for Human Rights is involved in documentation, accountability and advocacy work on abduction and re-education of Ukrainian children by Russia.
  • Freedom House tracks and analyses human rights violations, including abduction and militarization of Ukrainian children by Russia and its proxies, and provides policy recommendations based on their findings.
  • Yale Humanitarian Research Laboratory documents, analyses and preserves evidence of Russia's systematic policy of abduction and re-education of Ukrainian children.
  • Georgetown University Collaborative on Global Children's Issues provides analysis and a platform for professional discussions dedicated to the abduction and re-education of Ukrainian children.
